New Business Associate Agreement
Posted: September 4, 2013

The recently defined HIPAA Omnibus Rule requires covered entities, which include healthcare practices that manage Protected Health Information (PHI), to review and update their Business Associate Agreements (BAA). Your practice’s Business Associates include any companies that manage PHI, including RevolutionEHR.

As your healthcare technology partner, we understand the daunting work behind properly defining and implementing HIPAA compliance policies. We have done our own HIPAA compliance audit and have created for our customers a new BAA that we will provide to you to electronically.

The new HIPAA regulation requires you to have a BAA in place with us by September 23, 2013. Electronically accepting this agreement will cover your requirement. It is our pleasure to assist you in creating the required BAA documentation to reduce your effort and expense.

We are using this opportunity to update our software license agreement as well. In our next release, scheduled for September 16, 2013, we will require that you electronically accept the updated software license agreement and and allow you to also electronically accept the BAA. We will be providing additional communications over the next couple of weeks on the logistics.
