Why is there an asterisk next to the patient's name?

The asterisk next to the patient’s name means that they are a new patient. If you see an asterisk but the patient should not be marked as “new”, you can go into the demographics screen of the patient file and manually change the patient status to “established”. Please see the screen shot below:

The new or established patient status can be found under ‘other information’. Please make sure you click ‘edit’ and ‘update’ in the bottom right corner when making changes.
